During an early summer evening at Göteborgs Konsthall (SWE), a number of international and Gothenburg-based sound artists and musicians made a number of appearances in the exhibition space interpreting the work of artist Idris Kahn. The focus of the interpretations were on storytelling and repetitive form in his art.
How does the silence sound? Can you hear it? Can you see it? Do we always need a counterpoint to be able to hear it? During a November night, a number of musicians and artists to relate to soundlessness through the mapping of a blackbox, the bouncing of tones and resistance conditions. The evening was an investigation, a playful exploration of the spaces between the notes. Shown at Atalante (SWE) in 2012.

WOODWORKS was a temporary forum, an audio connection going back to the woodwork at school, taking us back to the forest industry and the sawmill , but also to the place where your own odd creations are being made and the tools gets a new function. What happens if you let the wood set the tone for what is created ? A number of artists and musicians were invited to explore the different ways of working with wood in their practice which then was shown at Atalante (SWE), in 2012.
DOPET / The Christening
DOPET was an initiation, a festival and a venue for contemporary art and thought run by the The Non Existent Center in 2013. Louise Waite participated in the project both as a member of the curatorial board, as the residency coordinator and as an artist.
For two weeks a group of international and local musicians, choreographers and artists explored Ställbergs mine (SWE), making it their home and work space. Their time spent at the mine resulted in site-specific works emanating from the site and its surroundings. For three days the towers, machine rooms, offices and the grim landscape surrounding the mine was turned into a festival arena for music, art, theory, theatre and choreography.

Ljudmatiné / Sound Matinee
A project run by Louise Waite (curator/initiator) and Rasmus Persson (sound & light designer/initiator) at the venue Atalante (SWE).
Once a month the venue opened up for a Sunday Matinee, showcasing the work of local and international musicians and artists working with sound. The audience were served a glass of prosecco and sometimes a freshly baked scone when entering the venue, leaving the worries of the everyday outside the door.
